Fanny Mlinarsky is the founder of octoScope. She brings a powerful combination of in-depth technical knowledge and business acumen. With 28 years of experience in progressively influential technology roles with companies including Agilent and Teradyne, she has developed hardware and software, managed R&D teams and founded Azimuth Systems, a successful VC funded wireless test equipment company. Jose is an experienced and resourceful engineer focused on wireless driver and kernel level software development. He is intimately familiar with the Atheros 802.11 MAC and PHY and has worked with several revisions of the chipset on a variety of embedded designs, some with specialized wireless features. Jose has a good understanding of wireless RF, DSP and test issues. He excels at multi-tasking and coordinating the work of others, which makes him an effective hands-on manager. Jose has 17 years of experience developing embedded software under Linux, VxWorks and Windows with companies including Sandbridge, Azimuth, Avaya and 3Com. Ron is a systems design engineer with 16 years of experience developing RF test and consumer wireless products. With a career spanning multiple startup companies, he has concurrently led small development teams and provided hands-on design in various system disciplines, including RF, analog, digital, optics and software. Kate is a talented mechanical design engineer with versatile skills that include working knowledge of 3D mechanical design tools, Solidworks and Autodesk, and PADs printed circuit board layout. Kate has 36 years of experience with sheet metal, plastic molding, machined components and printed circuit board design. Prior to joining octoScope, Kate has worked at Data General, Genrad, Clearpoint, Scope Communications, HP/Agilent, Bluesocket and IneoQuest. She pays attention to customer’s needs, manufacturability and cost-effectiveness. She has excellent mechanical and electrical prototyping skills and a willingness to help with a broad range of tasks. Jim Sozanski is a design engineer with product development experience at companies such as Teradyne and Bose Corporation. His 24-year career includes design of consumer electronics, base station components and precision test equipment subsystems. Jim’s disciplined approach and creative thinking combined with his simulation, design and layout skills have been instrumental in his success with complex analog and RF circuits, including amplifiers, active and passive filters, PLLs and power supply subsystems. Dave Holbrook brings unique experience, creativity and ingenuity in the area of optics, vision systems and antenna design. With 27 years of experience, Dave has served as CTO, VP Engineering and in other lead technology roles with Varian Semiconductor, GCA, Genus, Analog Devices and MRS Technologies. He heads up projects dealing with fiber optic transmission, OTDR and antenna technologies. His team at Walleye Technologies has developed a radar-based imaging system for viewing objects through walls. Mathilde Benveniste has worked on wireless systems, including cellular systems and wireless LANs, for the past nineteen years. She holds forty-two patents in this field with fifty-nine more pending. She has held research positions at Avaya Labs, AT&T Labs and AT&T Bell Labs. She has been active in the QoS and Mesh Networking 802.11 standards task groups, and has made numerous contributions to the 802.11 standard. She has proven the feasibility of self-configuring cellular networks, a concept she pioneered. She has published technical papers on network planning, radio resources management, traffic engineering, WLAN medium access technology, and wireless mesh performance. Mimi brings valuable knowledge of wireless multimedia and seamless mobility applications. She has over 23 years of experience with carrier grade network architecture and testing. Mimi held lead technology and product development roles at companies including Motorola, PictureTel, IBM, Davox and Computer Associates. Tom Hogan brings a wealth of experience and creativity in the area of RF and analog product development. Always thinking out-of-the-box , he has a track record of creating highly competitive architectures that have served as foundations of successful companies. Tom is the co-founder and CTO of Singapore based LEUS Networks, a company producing stackable broadband modems since 1999. Prior to that he was Director of R&D at 3Com where he managed all hardware engineering for the Token Ring division. Tom designed key ASICs on which all products for the division were based. Prior to 3Com he was Hardware Manager at Startek, a company acquired by 3Com in 1995. Tom held key technology positions at LTX, Apollo Computer, Prime Computer and VivoScan.
