Today's smartphones contain several radios, including cellular, 3G/4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, all operating in different regions of the spectrum.

Multiple pieces of test equipment that communicate with the different radios in the smartphone, can be placed in the top chamber to serve as test signal sources and to analyze transmissions from the radios in the handset under test.

With its superior isolation, the octoBox is particularly well-suited for testing the operation of highly sensitive GPS receivers. This test requires a very quiet RF environment with noise levels below -114 dBm, which the octoBox can provide.

In a production test, where speed must be optimized, multiple radios in the DUT can be tested simultaneously. Or multiple DUTs can be placed in the octoBox for parallel testing.
